EKG Certification

EKG Technicians are tasked with operating machinery that monitors a patient’s heart performance. The machine then provides data that the EKG Technician records and translates. EKG Technicians need to possess a high knowledge and focus level to do their job properly. The machinery used is complex and requires an in-depth understanding by the Technician whose responsibilities include ensuring machines are in proper working order.

Most EKG Technicians complete a non-degree training program such as a post secondary school or training course where they will learn about Medical Terminology, Anatomy and Physiology of The Heart, Common Heart Rhythms and Deviations and how to Interpret EKG Strips.
